  • Current Events Club

    Current Events Club strives to create a passion for learning about current events with a focus on civil discussion, research, and forming one’s own well-informed opinions on current events. Also, we actively help out in the community in order to help resolve modern, prevalent issues in our community through volunteering for organizations and others in need due to current events. Lastly, we promote a sense of community among the students through the awareness of current events scaling from small to large (school to globally)

  • Asian Pacific Union

    The Asian Pacific Union (APU) Club is a student-led organization that celebrates and promotes the cultural diversity of Asian and Pacific Islander communities. It aims to foster cultural awareness, understanding, and appreciation through various activities, such as cultural events, social gatherings, food and community service. The club provides a space for students to connect, share experiences, and explore their heritage, while also inviting others to learn and engage with Asian and Pacific Islander cultures.

    Board Game and D&D Club:

  • Cheerleading

    Curtis Cheerleaders provide crowd involvement and sideline cheers at football games as well for our boys and girls basketball games. Our cheerleaders focus on school spirit and leadership while showing support for other sports teams and clubs at Curtis. We look forward to enhancing our role in the community with outreach opportunities. . 

    Cheerleaders learn cheers, chants, dances, jumps, stunting, and competitive routines to showcase throughout the year at games, assemblies, competitions and community events.

    Our mission is to increase school pride, community involvement, and academic success.

  • Chess Club

    The chess club is a student-led organization where members gather to learn, practice, and play chess. The club meets after school every Thursday and offers opportunities for players of all skill levels to improve their game through friendly matches. Chess clubs also provide a social environment where students can connect with peers who share a passion for the game.

  • Craft Club

    The Craft Club is a student-led organization where members explore and create various forms of arts and crafts. It provides a fun, social environment for students to express themselves artistically, develop new skills. Students may also attend meetings to work on their own projects while connecting with their peers who share similar passions.

  • DECA

    The DECA classroom is a learning experience like no other. Students can explore the real-life impact of their decisions, participate in activities where they can make a difference in their community, and develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime.

    The Marketing classroom is the DECA member's home base, and DECA is an integral component of the class experience. Their Marketing teacher, also called the DECA Advisor, is always there to listen, encourage and guide student's achievements. DECA Advisors spend hours with students helping them discover their strengths. These special teachers are often remembered by their students not only as a teacher, but as a role model and mentor. DECA classroom activities are exciting because they go far beyond textbook learning.

    Members participate in operating their school stores, working in teams on various projects, and become involved in Civic activities where they make important contributions to their communities.

    DECA also connects students to the world of business outside the classroom. Our goal is to give students hands-on experience in the fields of Marketing, Business, and Entrepreneurship, CHS DECA teaches leadership characteristics that mold high school students into character driven leaders.

  • Intramural Sports Club

    Provide opportunities to play sports with classmates in a positive and encouraging environment that promotes making new friends, demonstrating Viking PRIDE and competing.

    We explore Japanese culture and traditions. Activities include learning how to wear yukata (traditional clothes), making origami decorations, learning how to make traditional food, and preparing for the multicultural assembly.

  • NJROTC

    NJROTC 8th Grade Club is designed for 8th grade students wanting to participate in NJROTC prior to taking the class in 9th grade. Participating in NJROTC in 8th grade club cadets are involved in the community and supports events and organizations in the South Sound area. They are also able to start earning ribbins and promotions within the NJROTC program.

  • Science Knowledge Bowl

    The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) National Science Bowl® is a nationwide academic competition that tests students’ knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics. Middle and high school student teams from diverse backgrounds are comprised of four students, one alternate, and a teacher who serves as an advisor and coach. These teams face-off in a fast-paced question-and-answer format, being tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, energy, and math.
