Foreign Exchange Pre-Enrollment Informational Sheet – Curtis High School
(Student on J-1 Visa Only)
University Place School District has established the following process for Foreign Exchange Student Application (non tuition status – J-1 Visa). There are three openings yearly.
"Approved" organizations wishing to sponsor students may begin submitting the application packet to Curtis High School by February 1st, for the following school year. All applications must be received by June 1. The Foreign Exchange Student committee will select three students June 17.
* Applications accepted starting February 1.
* The DEADLINE for submitting applications is June 1. APPLICATIONS ARE NOW UNDER REVIEW.
* Notification of acceptance or denial will be completed by June 17.

- A foreign exchange student is a non-immigrant secondary student between the ages of 15 and 19 entering the University Place School District under the sponsorship of an approved foreign exchange organization for a maximum period of 12 months.
- The student shall have English language competence and the academic ability to effectively participate in the regular programs at Curtis High School.
