What’s New on the 2018-2019 School Calendar

School Calendar Updates
Posted on 09/17/2018
CalendarAfter gathering input from families and school staff, the 2018-2019 UPSD calendar has a number of changes that will impact students. To make sure everyone is prepared for the upcoming year, we wanted to remind families of the changes.

First, there will be fewer early release days this year. Students will attend full school days leading up to the end of the first semester (instead of three half days in grades 8-12) and two other early release days have been eliminated.

In January, the final day of the first semester will be January 25. Teachers will have Monday, January 28 as a Planning and Preparation Day, and there will be no school for students. School will resume on Tuesday, January 29, which will be the first day of the second semester.

Mid-winter break will be a four-day weekend in 2019 beginning on February 15 and continuing through February 18. This weekend includes the Presidents’ Day holiday.

As the summer approaches, everyone will want to make sure that they have the correct final day of school. Friday, June 14 will conclude the 2018-2019 school year unless we are impacted by weather-related school closures this winter.
