CHS Volunteer Service Award

Students who volunteer an additional 80 hours or more of approved volunteer/community service in a year may be eligible to earn a CHS Volunteer Service Award.

GRADE 12 = 100 Hours Total (20 Hours Required + 80 Hours Additional)

GRADE 11 =   95 Hours Total (15 Hours Required + 80 Hours Additional)

GRADE 10 =   90 Hours Total (10 Hours Required + 80 Hours Additional)

GRADE   9 =   85 Hours Total   (5 Hours Required + 80 Hours Additional)

STUDENTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS (NO EXCEPTIONS ALLOWED):

Must be a Curtis High School student in grade 9, 10, 11 or 12

Must meet the 2.0 GPA minimum requirement (cumulative GPA end of first semester 2018/2019)

Must complete an additional 80 volunteer/community service hours or more between May 2, 2018 through May 1, 2019

Must have at least 50 hours completed in Pierce County, Washington

Students can NOT include hours used to fulfill the annual CHS graduation requirement: 5 hours for 9th / 10 hours for 10th / 15 hours for 11th / 20 hours for 12th

ALL hours must meet the required CHS volunteer/community service guidelines for approved activities, as outlined on the CHS Volunteer Service Requirements

All volunteer/community service hours must be enteredverified and approved in x2vol no later than May 1, 2019

After May 1, 2019, a 
FINAL REVIEW and FINAL APPROVAL will be completed by the CCRC to re-verify that all volunteer hours meet the guideline requirements for approved activities (even if the hours were already approved in x2vol)

Students are required to submit the online CHS Volunteer Service Award Application no later than 11:59pm on 
May 1, 2019 

Students who apply for the CHS Varsity Letter in Community Service will automatically be considered for the CHS Volunteer Service Award.  (These students are not required to complete the CHS Volunteer Service Award Application.)
