Constitution & Bylaws



We, the students, for the promotion of good government, good sportsmanship, student activities, and the general welfare of the students of Curtis High School, establish this Constitution of the HOSA Club.

Article 1. Name of Organization

Section A. It is resolved that the name of this organization shall be the HOSA Club of Curtis High School.

Article 2. Purpose

The purposes of this organization shall be to:

The purpose of the HOSA organization is to develop leadership and technical HOSA skill competencies through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, which is an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program.

  1. To promote physical, mental and social well-being.
  2. To develop effective leadership qualities and skills.
  3. To develop the ability to communicate more effectively with people.
  4. To develop character.
  5. To develop responsible citizenship traits.
  6. To understand the importance of pleasing oneself as well as being of service to others.
  7. To build self-confidence and pride in one's work.
  8. To make realistic career choices and seek successful employment in the health care field.
  9. To develop an understanding of the importance in interacting and cooperating with other students and organizations.

Article 3. Membership

Section A. Membership in HOSA Club is established by becoming a member with the State Chapter of HOSA.

Section B. Membership in HOSA Club is maintained by Chapter Advisor.

Section C. Members shall pay dues to participate in HOSA Club in the amount of 15.00 dollars. Fee waivers and reductions will be evaluated case by case through the Club Advisor.

Article 4. Duties

Section A. Duties of HOSA Club

  • To create enthusiasm for learning.
  • To assist members in their growth and development.
  • To develop the ability of students to plan together, organize and carry out activities and projects through the use of democratic process.
  • To develop leadership skills through participation in educational, vocational, civic and social activities.
  • To attend meeting and events.
  • To support the local community through volunteering.
  • To raise funds for HOSA activities and other outside programs.

Article 5. Eligibility

Section A. Eligibility of HOSA Club, All club members must have and maintain a cumulative 2.0 grade point average.

Section B. Requirements for all HOSA Club Members during their period of service shall be required to:

  1. Participate in meeting and club events
  2. Member of the local chapter must also be members of the state chapter.
  3. Members must hold a current year ASB card in order participate in club events.

Article 6. Amendments

Section A. This constitution shall be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the HOSA membership and approval of Curtis High School ASB.
