High School & Beyond Plan (Career Cruising/x2vol)

CHS High School & Beyond Overview

WHO NEEDS TO COMPLETE THE HIGH SCHOOL & BEYOND PLAN?
All students attending Curtis High School, in grades 8 through 12, are required to participate in the CHS High School & Beyond Program (HSBP), including students attending the Running Start program.

WHY DO STUDENTS NEED THE HIGH SCHOOL & BEYOND PLAN?
The CHS High School & Beyond Program is designed to help high school students develop their college and career readiness goals while meeting Washington State graduation requirements.

The High School & Beyond Program is beneficial to students because it helps them to plan for their future, develop their leadership skills, support their community, and create opportunities to be more competitive in the college selection process, as well as, the job market.

WHAT IS THE CHS HIGH SCHOOL & BEYOND PLAN?
CHS students will use two web-based programs (Career Cruising and x2vol) to complete their HSBP graduation requirements. This information is shared with all students in the fall of every school year during English and/or Social Studies classes.

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS (CAREER CRUISING):  Students (grades 8-12) will complete tasks in Career Cruising, a web-based planning portfolio, to assist in exploring and creating college and career readiness goals.

VOLUNTEER SERVICE (X2VOL):  Students (grades 9-12) will complete volunteer service hours and record their hours in x2vol. Minimum volunteer service hours requirements each school year:  5 hours 9th Grade, 10 hours 10th Grade, 15 Hours 11th Grade, 20 Hours 12th Grade.
